Our Specialist Status

We are pleased to have been redesignated as a Humanities Specialist School for the next three years in the subject areas of English, History and Geography. A full range of courses is offered in these popular subject areas and students are provided with a variety of learning experiences beyond the classroom. Continued development of resources is planned for the next year, in addition to the Radio Station and Television editing facilities within our Media Centre, and we will be leading development of the Humanities Diploma for our partner schools.

Our Humanities ethos is reflected across all elements of the school and our commitment to help all students fulfil their potential irresepective of ability through a curriculum offering choice and breadth from Year 8 onwards. We are also actively developing community learning through adult literacy projects and business partnerships.
